AURORA, Ohio – The Aurora Police Department managed a wide range of calls for service between mid-March and early April 2026, including several instances of identity theft, property disputes, and mental health crises. These Aurora police reports highlight the department's active role in maintaining community safety through welfare checks and incident investigations across the city.Recent Aurora Police Reports Involving Fraud and TheftMultiple residents reported financial crimes during this period. On March 18, a female visitor at the police station reported fraud involving a check used at a credit union in Garfield Heights. Another incident of Aurora police reports regarding identity theft occurred on April 1, when a resident on Walnut Ridge Trail discovered a credit card had been opened in her name and mailed to her home without authorization. Additionally, officers responded to a theft report at a store on South Chillicothe Road, where a victim's wallet was stolen from a dressing room; staff provided video of a suspect carrying an Old Navy bag.Mental Health Assistance and Welfare ChecksOfficers frequently provided support for individuals in crisis. On March 19, a female was "pink slipped" and transported for medical evaluation after a mental health call on North Aurora Road. Later, on March 28, police located a barefoot female in a grey sweatshirt on North Chillicothe Road and transported her for assistance. Welfare checks also remained a priority, including an April 4 response to South Parkview Drive where a guardian requested a check on a woman reported to be under the influence of alcohol and pills.Public Disturbances and Property DamageThe department addressed various local disturbances and traffic-related incidents. On March 18, officers were called to North Aurora Road for a female acting erratically and threatening to remove a parking sign. A "loud party" with youth racing vehicles was reported on Chelmsford Drive on April 2, which was eventually dispersed. Traffic incidents included a vehicle striking two deer on Lena Drive on March 20 and a truck knocking down a pedestrian crosswalk signal at the intersection of North Chillicothe Road and Pioneer Trail on March 26.
