Local officers managed a range of incidents from noise complaints involving distressed residents to complex identity theft cases reported at the station. Domestic Disturbances and Welfare Checks On February 18, officers responded to Moneta Avenue after a complainant reported being punched by a female who then fled the scene half-naked. Police later located her and provided transport to a different residence to retrieve her medication. Later that evening, several 911 calls were received regarding a female screaming on Bryce Avenue. After a search of the area, officers located a vehicle with hazard lights on East Boulevard; the situation was determined to be a verbal argument, and the parties eventually separated after the female retrieved her property. Additional domestic incidents included a report on February 19 from Emerald Court, where a 12-year-old juvenile allegedly attacked his mother during a dispute over taking a shower. On March 2, police responded to East Boulevard for a report of an intoxicated male slapping a female in the face; the male was subsequently given a ride to another location to ensure the parties remained separated. On March 2, an IT representative from the Aurora Schools reported a cyber security threat and scam that occurred within the school district. Warrant Arrests and Traffic Enforcement Several arrests were made during the reporting period. A warrant arrest took place on February 18 at the station on S. Aurora Road. On February 27, a traffic stop on N. Aurora Road led to the arrest of a female for a misdemeanor warrant through Akron. Another stop later that day on N. Aurora Road resulted in a male being arrested on a misdemeanor warrant. Additionally, a traffic stop on February 25 at S. Chillicothe Road led to an OVI arrest after a caller flagged down a white pickup truck, suspecting the driver was intoxicated. Assault and Property Incidents On March 3, an assault was reported on S. Bissell Road where a staff member allegedly punched a resident in the face. In other activity, police investigated a property damage report on E. Homestead Drive where a car hit a fire hydrant and left debris behind. On Orchard Avenue, a resident reported suspicious activity involving a male in a Chevy truck who allegedly grabbed a brick from his vehicle before noticing a security camera and fleeing.
