Aurora Police Blotter: Warrant Service, Theft, and Overdose Response
AURORA, Ohio – The Aurora Police Department handled a diverse range of calls for service between March 4 and March 10, 2026, including several warrant services, retail theft investigations, and a life-saving response to an overdose. These incidents highlight the department's ongoing efforts to maintain public safety through proactive patrols and rapid emergency coordination. Warrant Service and Traffic EnforcementOn March 4, officers responded to a 911 hang-up involving a child alone in a vehicle on N Aurora Rd. Upon arrival, it was determined the child’s father had just exited a nearby building; however, a records check led to a warrant confirmation for an adult male at the scene for a misdemeanor theft charge out of Bedford. Later that week, a traffic stop on Treat Rd resulted in another warrant arrest where the driver was transferred to the custody of Macedonia Police. Additionally, a stop on Campus Dr on March 10 led to a citation for a driver operating a vehicle with fictitious plates and no valid license, resulting in the vehicle being towed. Theft Investigations and Property CrimesProperty crimes were a significant focus during this reporting period. On March 5, a resident on Chelmsford Dr reported a theft involving an Amazon purchase. On March 9, a business on Lena Dr reported that a catalytic converter had been stolen from one of their trucks over the weekend. Perhaps most notably, a retail theft was reported at a business on S Chillicothe Rd. Security footage showed an unknown female suspect taking several bags on March 7 with a total value of approximately $1,201.00. The store has indicated they intend to prosecute. Emergency Medical and Overdose ResponsePolice and EMS were dispatched to Lake Av on the night of March 9 following a report of a 31-year-old male who had overdosed. Responding officers found the male in a bathroom, breathing but unresponsive. After a period of coughing, the male regained consciousness and was able to walk. Despite the severity of the incident, the individual signed a refusal for medical transport against medical advice. Community Welfare and Harassment ReportsThe department also managed several "check the welfare" and harassment calls. On March 4, officers checked on a female on East Blvd who was reportedly off her medication; officers confirmed she was okay. On March 9, a female came to the station lobby to report a telecommunications harassment issue involving the father of her child. Officers advised it was a civil issue but placed the residence on a "special watch" for the following morning.
