Hands-on Earth Day event in Aurora will teach plant propagation basics

A spring workshop in Aurora is giving plant lovers a chance to celebrate Earth Day by learning how to propagate their favorite houseplants at home.A Plant Propagation Event is scheduled for 5:30 to 7 p.m. April 22 at Ace Hardware Aurora. According to event information shared by organizers, the workshop will feature help from Portage County OSU Master Gardener Volunteers and will focus on the basics of plant propagation, including stem cuttings and division.Participants will also assemble their own mini-greenhouse, or “Prop Box,” with unrooted cuttings and leave with skills they can use to expand their plant collections at home.The event is listed at $15 per person and will include light appetizers and wine.
