Aurora City Council’s April 13 meeting focused on staffing updates, audit funding, development projects, and a split vote on a residential metal roof appeal. Council approved employee pay changes, seasonal hiring, and funding for the city’s 2025 state audit. Members also narrowly voted to allow a homeowner to install a metal roof after an earlier denial. Additional business included approvals tied to the Meijer project, farmland preservation renewal, and infrastructure updates. Mayor Ann Womer Benjamin also shared progress on Aurora Park, Route 82 construction, and a new city email newsletter.

Aurora High School sophomore Max Furney has been named the "Player of the Week" for his exceptional performance and work ethic on the lacrosse field. Furney, a midfielder wearing jersey #7, earned the honor during the second week of the season after a breakout performance in a dominant 19–7 victory over St. Vincent-St. Mary (SVSM).
